One Dead, One Wounded In Jurupa Valley Shooting

Jurupa Valley, Calif.; On Saturday, October 24, 2015, at approximately 1:53 a.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Jurupa Valley Station were dispatched to the report of a shooting that had just occurred in the 6300 block of 45th Street in Jurupa Valley.

Upon arrival, deputies located two adult males with gunshot wounds in the roadway. Deputies immediately began rendering first aid to the victims and requested priority response from emergency first responders.

Despite the deputies and medics best efforts,  prior to be transported to the hospital, one of the victims succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the shooting incident. The second victim received medical treatment at the scene before being transported to a local area hospital, where he was treated for his unspecified gunshot injury(s) and later released from the hospital.

Deputies requested assistance from the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit, which responded to the location and assumed the investigation. This investigation is ongoing and the victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
