Shooting at Hemet Bar Injures Two

Hemet, Calif.; On November 8, a shooting occurred at the Elite Bar and Lounge, located at 118 N. Harvard St., in the city of Hemet. The shooting, which followed a physical altercation inside the bar, left two victims injured, one with gunshot wounds to his leg.

At around midnight, the Hemet Police Department Dispatch Center received multiple calls reporting shots fired on N. Harvard Ave.

One of the callers told police dispatchers that immediately after the shooting, a male was seen limping away from the scene, south on N. Harvard towards Florida Ave.

Upon their arrival, officers found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the leg. Officers immediately requested emergency first responders to the scene to provide medical treatment to the victim of the shooting.

Two people were injured in the shooting incident. The unidentified male who was shot in the leg and an unidentified female who was hit by debris from a bullet that ricocheted of the ground.

Officers questioned multiple witnesses and determined a physical altercation occurred inside the Elite Bar and Lounge. The altercation spilled outside and resulted in an unidentified suspect pulling out a gun and firing several rounds at the victim. Multiple witnesses said the suspect fired at the victim from “point-blank range.”

Immediately after the shooting, the suspect fled from the location in a lifted black truck. No further description of the suspect has been made available. As of this report it was unknown if officers had identified the suspect involved in this shooting.

After being treated at the scene, the male victim was taken by AMR to a local hospital with what has been described as non-life-threatening injuries. The female who was hit by debris was treated at the scene and declined further medical treatment.
