Riverside PD Misc. Weekend Arrests

Late Thursday Nov. 12, officers from the Riverside Police Department contacted a group of people near the intersection of Pembroke and Monroe. During the encounter one of the subjects dropped some mail, catching the attention of officers. An investigation was conducted, at which time the officers determined the mail to be stolen. The suspect at the scene was determined to be on parole. During a search the parolee was found to be in possession of a stolen check book. The suspect was arrested for possession of stolen property and booked into jail.


 

 

Late Friday evening, Nov. 13, a Riverside Police officer conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations near the 6600 Block of Arlington Avenue. The officer determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol. During the search of the driver’s vehicle, the officer found a plastic bag containing methamphetamine. The driver was arrested for being in possession of a control substance and driving under the influence.


 

Early Sunday morning, Nov. 15, Riverside Police officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle that was weaving in lanes of traffic near Central and Streeter. The driver pulled over at which time officers saw the driver jump into the back seat of the vehicle in an attempt to avoid being identified as the driver. An investigation was done by the officers on scene and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence.


Sunday afternoon, Nov. 15, a Riverside Police officer responded to the 3100 Block of Arlington Avenue regarding a family disturbance. The officer’s investigation determined that family members had been involved in a verbal argument and the victim attempted to call the police. The suspect prevented the victim from calling for police assistance by taking the phone away from the victim.

The victim went to a nearby neighbor and called the police. Upon returning to the residence, the suspect hit the victim over the head with an unknown object causing the victim to lose consciousness. Ultimately, the suspect was arrested by officers for a variety of charges.


Sunday evening, Nov. 15, officers from the Riverside Police Department conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations near the area of Shadow Hill Drive and Royal Hill Drive. During the stop, Officers observed the driver displaying symptoms of being intoxicated. A Field Sobriety Test was conducted at the scene of the traffic stop. The driver failed the Field Sobriety Test and was arrested for driving under the influence.


Sunday afternoon, Nov. 15, officers From the Riverside Police Department responded to a call of a possible drunk driver near the area of Van Buren Boulevard and Cleveland Avenue. Upon locating the driver, the officer located the car and conducted a traffic stop. The officers determined the driver was extremely intoxicated. The driver failed the Field Sobriety Test and was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.
