Moreno Valley Hit And Run Injures Juvenile Victim

MORENO VALLEY – On Thursday, December 3, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Police station responded to 23600 block of Dracaea Ave, in the city of Moreno Valley, regarding a report of a hit and run traffic collision.

At about 3:33 P.M., deputies, along with emergency first responders from American Medical Response and the Moreno Valley Fire Department arrived at the location and found the juvenile victim down in the roadway with minor injuries.

The victim reported he was struck by a tan, four-door sedan. The vehicle was last seen driving westbound Dracaea Ave. from the location.

The victim was transported to a regional health facility in stable condition with minor injuries. The victim’s name was being withheld due to his age.

According to Sgt. Lingo of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the preliminary investigation revealed the bicyclist was crossing the street when he was struck by the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was being driven Eastbound on Dracaea Ave.

After hitting the victim, the suspect continued driving Eastbound, made a u-turn and fled the scene driving Westbound Dracaea Ave. towards Moreno Valley High School.

In a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Sgt. Lingo wrote, “This is an active and ongoing investigation. The Moreno Valley Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding this traffic collision, or anyone who may have witnessed the traffic collision; contact Officer Loucks from the Traffic Division at (951) 486-6957. After hours, and on weekends, the Department may be reached at (951) 776-1099.”
