HEMET – San Bernardino murder suspect arrested by Hemet PD

HEMET – Yesterday afternoon, January 17, officers from the Hemet Police Department located and arrested a woman wanted for her connection with a brutal San Bernardino murder.

Hemet Police received information from San Bernardino PD officials that Nakasia Shanea James, 18, was being sought as a suspect in the Jan. 11 stabbing death of her boyfriend. The fatal stabbing occurred at about 2:25 a.m., on Central Ave. in San Bernardino.

In the hours following the stabbing, James reportedly posted an explanation of her version of what had happened, in which she alluded to acting in self-defense during a domestic violence related incident.

During their investigation, police officials in San Bernardino developed information and leads indicating that James was possibly hiding in the Hemet area.

At 4:48 p.m., Hemet Police officers located James in an apartment, located in the 400 block of N. Hamilton Ave. Officers arrested James without incident and turned over to officials from San Bernardino PD.

James was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for murder. James was being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail. Her arraignment is scheduled at San Bernardino Superior Court tomorrow, Jan. 19.
