BREAKING: Man drives himself to police station after being shot in Hemet

HEMET – A shooting victim drove himself to the Hemet Police Department after he was injured when his vehicle was shot multiple times on Feb. 21. The shooting reportedly occurred while the victim was sitting in his white SUV.

The victim, who has only been identified as an adult male, told Hemet Police officers he was in his SUV at about 2:30 p.m., when an unknown person fired multiple times through his front windshield. The victim was not able or willing to tell officers exactly where the shooting had occurred.

Paramedics treated the victim at the police station before he was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The victim sustained non-life-threatening wounds and is in stable condition, according to a press release from Hemet Police.

Officers and detectives from Hemet PD are investigating the shooting incident and followed up a number of potential leads in the hours following the shooting. Shortly after the victim was transported to the hospital, officers had his vehicle stored for processing and evidence collection.

Hemet Police officials were not able to provide any further information about the incident, stating their investigation was active and ongoing.

  • I’m thankful to be alive.. only wish I knew why that dude shot at me..also hope the war doesn’t start because of it..would like that dude to know if the police don’t get you somebody will..may god have mercy on your sole.
