Shooting in Jurupa Valley leaves one dead, one injured

JURUPA VALLEY – Few details have been released after one victim was killed and another was wounded after a shooting in Jurupa Valley on Saturday, Feb. 20.

At about 12:15 a.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s emergency communications center received a 911 call about a shooting in the 4000 block of Pedley Road, in Jurupa Valley. Deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the emergency call.

Upon arrival, deputies located two victims suffering gunshot wounds. An adult male, who has not yet been identified, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics treated the second victim, identified only as an adult female, before they transported her to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In a press release from the sheriff’s department, Sergeant Rob Thompson wrote, “Jurupa Valley investigators and investigators from the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. This investigation is ongoing and the victims’ identities are being withheld pending further investigation and notification of next of kin.”
