BLYTHE: Infant’s death being investigated as homicide

BLYTHE – Riverside County Sheriff’s officials are conducting a homicide investigation after a 6-month-old died under suspicious circumstances on Tuesday Feb. 23.
At about 7:15 a.m., deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Blythe-Colorado River Station were contacted by medical personnel from the Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe, regarding a possible child abuse investigation.
Doctors, nurses, teachers, law enforcement officers and others who work directly with children are among those who are mandated reporters for all cases of suspected child abuse and neglect.
When deputies arrived hospital staff informed them that the infant had succumbed to their injuries after medical intervention had failed and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators from the Blythe Station and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the hospital and assumed the investigation.
“The name of the child is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin,” Riverside Sheriff Sergeant Walter Mendez said. “No arrests have been made and due to the ongoing status of the investigation, no further information will be released at this time.”

I want closure to the autopsy report is 23 dollars ive begged the mom to buy one and she wont and that i dont understand.we never said for the mom not to talk to you guys .that wouldnt be right ill answer any question you have i loved that baby and he wasnt murderd .
