Winchester woman kicked by horse suffers major injuries

WINCHESTER – A woman was seriously injured when she was kicked by a horse, Saturday, May 28, according to a fire official. The incident occurred in the 33700 block of Arthur Road, in the unincorporated community of Winchester. Arthur Road is located north of Lake Skinner and east of Highway 79.

Riverside County emergency communications dispatchers received a 911 call at 12:10 p.m., from a person reporting the victim’s injuries.

The woman, who has not been identified, was evaluated and treated at the scene by AMR paramedics and fire personnel.

Based on the victim’s injuries, firefighter’s immediately called for an air ambulance to respond to the location.

The victim was transported by Mercy Air to an area trauma center for treatment of major traumatic injuries, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Public Information Officer Jody Hagemann explained in a press release.
