Motorcyclist killed in solo-vehicle accident on Hwy 74 near Bee Canyon

HEMET – A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle accident when he lost control of his motorcycle and veered off the roadway while traveling on State Route 74 Wednesday, July 27. The fatal accident happened about 7:30 p.m.

The accident occurred as the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound, east of Bee Canyon Truck Trail, near mile marker 49, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log.

After the motorcycle left the roadway, the rider and motorcycle rolled down a hillside, fatally injuring the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, whose name has not been released pending notification of his family, succumbed to injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, according to CHP officials.

The deadly accident is being investigated by officers from the CHP’s Indio office.
