FONTANA – Heather Nelson recently had an experience with a uniformed soldier she felt she needed to share on Facebook. Nelson explained that she made the post public so it could be shared as much as possible. By the end of the first day, Nelson’s post had been shared 3,424 times.

Nelson wrote that on Thursday, Sept. 9 she was on her way home when she came upon a soldier who was holding a large sign. The sign said HIRE ME and HOMELESS VETERAN.

“So I was on my way home today, driving through Fontana when I saw this man standing on the corner,” Nelson explained. “While reading his sign, I realized that in the bottom corner of the sign it said he had a RESUME ON HAND.”

“So, I rolled down my window,” Nelson explained. “He didn’t know if i was going to give him money or not.”

“But as soon as i asked for his resume his face lit up,” according to Nelson. ” When I asked him for his resume he was so excited to be able to pull it out for me.”

“Mr. Jordan Taylor (I did not get his rank) said he had been there all day and I was the first person who asked for his resume,” Nelson wrote. “This was at 6pm!!!”

Before Nelson left with Taylor’s resume, he told her how grateful he was that she at least stopped to ask for one of his resumes. “As I drove away, he snapped to attention and saluted me,” Nelson wrote.

“There is no reason why we should have any veterans in this country, young or old, without a job or a home!” Nelson wrote in her post.

“I have a copy of this veterans very respectable resume and will forward it to anybody who is interested,” Nelson continued.

Nelson wrote in her post that according to his resume Taylor lives in Fontana, CA.

Nelson finished her post by writing, “Thank you Jordan Taylor for your service to our country!”

“Now let’s all share this, and get this man a job!” Nelson exclaimed.

So far, her efforts seem to be paying off. “Before the 24 hour mark, I have responded to every message requesting his resume which is well over 50!” Nelson later excitedly explained.

According to Nelson, “It only takes a few minutes to make a world of difference!”

So far, attempts to track down Taylor to verify his military status and credentials and to help provide him with a flood of resumes has proved fruitless. To put me in contact with Taylor please write me here.
