CORONA: Officials investigating death of woman as homicide

CORONA – Very few details have been released after Corona police officials announced Wednesday, Nov. 23, that they are investigating the death of a woman as a homicide. The woman was killed in the 1000 block of E. Grand Boulevard, between 10th and S. Howard Streets in Corona.

The victim has not yet been identified by coroner’s officials, pending notification of her family.

Corona police and fire personnel responded to a medical aid at the location about 7 p.m. When they arrived, firefighters located a white female adult on the floor. According to a Corona PD press release, the victim was covered in blood and unresponsive.

Firefighter/paramedics provided medical aid to the victim at the scene, however the she remained unresponsive. The victim succumbed to her injuries and medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.

Corona police detectives were summoned to the scene to conduct an investigation into the woman’s death. Forensic technicians and Riverside County Sheriff’s coroner’s officials responded to the scene to assist in the investigation, which is being conducted as a homicide investigation, according to police officials.
