RIVERSIDE: Four, including 2 juveniles, arrested during school burglary investigation

RIVERSIDE – Authorities arrested four people, including two juveniles, while investigating a burglary that happened at Collett Elementary School in June, 2016. The school is located south of Collett Avenue and east of La Sierra Avenue in Riverside.

Raudel Sotelo was arrested during a search warrant related to a school burglary.

During their initial investigation, officers collected fingerprints and other evidence at the school.

“Fingerprints found at the scene were recently matched to a juvenile who is on probation for burglary,” according to Riverside Police Public Information Officer Ryan Railsback.

Based on the fingerprint identification, Riverside PD detectives obtained and served a search at a residence in the 8900 block of Conway in Riverside Thursday, Jan. 26.

When detectives served the search warrant they detained two adults and two juveniles at the residence.

One of the juveniles that detectives detained was the suspect in the original school burglary. Detectives arrested the minor and he was booked into Juvenile Hall for charges related to that crime.

Officials determined the other juvenile who had been detained had a felony warrant for his arrest. Detectives arrested the minor for his warrant and and he was also booked into Juvenile Hall.

Neither of the juveniles were identified by officials due to their ages.

“Additionally, while at the residence, detectives located items consistent with identity theft,” according to Railsback.

Claudia Flores was arrested during a search warrant related to a school burglary.

Detectives arrested Raudel Sotelo, 23, who was already on parole for identity theft, and Claudia Flores, 27, for the identity theft related items found in the home during the service of the search warrant. Flores was also booked into jail for several outstanding arrest warrants.

An online jail records search revealed Sotelo was booked on suspicion of two counts of false impersonation for financial gain, identity theft with prior arrests, prior state prison enhancements, and violation of parole.

He is being held at the Robert Presley Detention Center in lieu of $80,000 bail. His next scheduled court date is set for Feb. 8, at the Riverside Hall of Justice.

Flores was booked on suspicion of three counts related to false impersonation for financial gain. She was also booked on nine misdemeanor charges related to her warrants.

She was released from custody Jan. 30, after posting $10,000 bail. Her next scheduled court date is set for Feb. 8, at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
