MORENO VALLEY: Motorcyclist critically injured after two-vehicle collision

MORENO VALLEY — A motorcyclist was critically injured after being involved in a collision with a car, Saturday, Nov. 25. The accident happened on Pigeon Pass Road, just north of Hemlock Avenue, in Moreno Valley.

Moreno Valley Police and Fire personnel along with American Medical Response medics responded to the scene at 12:11 p.m., after receiving reports of a major injury traffic collision.

Officials arrived within minutes of the dispatched call and discovered a vehicle and motorcycle had collided, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Jaime Hernandez explained after the collision.

“The motorcyclist sustained major injuries, and was immediately transported by paramedics to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition,” said Hernandez. “The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries and remained at the scene of the collision.”

Officials have not released the name of the motorcycle rider.

Based on the circumstances and severity of the motorcycle riders injuries, members from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

During their investigation, officials called for the temporary full closure of all lanes of Pigeon Pass Road, between Chambray Drive and Hemlock Avenue. The roadway was re-opened about five hours later at 5 p.m.

“It does not appear alcohol and drugs were a contributing factor to this collision,” said Hernandez.
