HEMET: 73-Year-old Hemet resident killed in solo-vehicle rollover

HEMET — A 73-Year-old Hemet resident died after he was involved in a single-vehicle, rollover accident, late Friday evening, Dec. 29. The fatal rollover happened in the area of State Street and Domenigoni Parkway in Hemet.

The deadly crash was one of two deadly wrecks that happened less than six miles apart in Hemet over the New Year’s holiday weekend.

City of Hemet Police and Fire personnel were dispatched to the scene of the deadly wreck at 11:45 p.m., Hemet Police Lt. Jeff Davis explained after the deadly crash.

Officials began arriving within minutes of the dispatched call and found the victim’s overturned vehicle in an open field south of Domenigoni Parkway, about 350 feet west of State Street. The vehicle was described as a white pickup truck.

Paramedics determined the driver had already succumbed to his injuries and the victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel at 11:54 p.m.

The driver’s identity has not been released, pending further investigation and notification of the man’s family.

Based on the circumstances, members of Hemet PD’s Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

During their investigation, officers determined speed and reckless driving may have been contributing factors in the collision; however they have not concluded their full investigation into the cause of the accident.

“The driver of the vehicle was swerving and traveling at a high rate of speed before leaving the roadway,” Hemet Police Lt. Jeff Davis explained after the crash.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the deadly wreck.

Trevor has been married for more than 27 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 14 grandchildren.
