Based on the circumstances, nearly a dozen officers responded to the scene with both lethal and less-lethal options including bean bag shotguns, pepperball rifles, and Tasers.

When officers arrived at the park the uncooperative woman refused to comply with officials and continued to brandish the knife she was holding. Officers eventually deployed Tasers, which temporarily incapacitated the woman, allowing officers to safely detain the subject without further incident.

After the taser deployment officers requested medical aid for the woman and after being cleared by medics the woman was transported to Hemet PD for further investigation.

It was not immediately known if the woman was arrested or taken into protective custody to receive a mental health evaluation.
