Montgomery Creek evacuations ordered as firefighters continue battling blaze, now at 50 acres

burning in Montgomery Creek has forced the evacuation of the entire town, law enforcement and fire officials have advised.

According to a CHP incident log, Tuesday afternoon’s wildland fire was first reported around 3:20 p.m., and as of 4:30 p.m. had already charred more than 50 acres. According to Shasta-Trinity Cal Fire, the blaze began in the area of Crestline and Hunt Roads and is continuing to grow.

Today’s evacuation order was issued for all residents in the Intermountain community of Montgomery Creek; including Crestline Road, Dunn Moody Road, Hunt Road, Laura Lane, Manti Road, and Windy Point Road. Evacuees are being directed to an evacuation center that has been set up at Shasta High School, at 2500 Eureka Way in Redding.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 27 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 14 – soon to be 15 – grandchildren.
