Murrieta PD’s Weekly Roundup 7/26

From Murrieta PD/Facebook

– The job of the Parole and Probation Compliance Team #PPCT is pretty self-explanatory. They routinely conduct compliance checks on the citizens of Murrieta that are on parole and probation. #prettysimple Last Wednesday they conducted a probation check at a residence and met Craig Savage and Jodie Belina. Unfortunately for Craig, the officers already knew that he had two felony warrants and two misdemeanor warrants. #shouldhavehandledyourbusiness Ms. Bolina also had three misdemeanor warrants so they were both going to go to jail even before the officers found the #meth. #youknowtheroutine #putyourhandsbehindyourback #untilwemeetagain

– Thursday morning, a vehicle belonging to the Murrieta Valley Unified School District was taken from Antelope Hills Elementary. On Friday, a deputy with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle in the City of Perris occupied by Armando Carranza. Armando went to #thebyrdhouse for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and violating his parole #youdontsay and the vehicle was returned to MVUSD.

– Officer Hernandez is back on patrol and I think he may try to give Officer Bradley a run for his money this year on the number of #DUI arrests he makes. #itsarace Saturday morning, just after midnight #dispatch received a call regarding a hit and run accident that occurred on Murrieta Hot Springs Road and Alta Murrieta Road. The suspect vehicle didn’t make it too far and was located in a nearby shopping center. Officer Hernandez quickly determined that the driver, Jose Ardon had been driving under the influence and placed him under arrest and booked him into #CBDC. Sunday morning just after midnight, Officer Hernandez arrested Alfredo Sanchez for driving under the influence. He seems to be on a roll so #dontdrinkanddrive. #sayitwithme #nothinggoodhappensaftermidnight #youknewitwascoming

– Sunday morning Officer Baker got quite the surprise when he responded to a report of a suspicious male. As he was checking the yard of the house in question, Officer Baker found the mystery man in the pool relaxing on a floaty. Naked. #wellhellothere #wasnotexpectingthat #ihopehewaswearingsunscreen After contacting the homeowner, it was all sorted out and the suspicious person wasn’t suspicious after all and had permission to be in the pool.

– Tuesday morning, MPD #dispatch received several calls regarding a reckless driver in the area of Calle Del Oso Oro and Clear Creek. The callers stated that the driver was running stop signs, driving on embankments and almost hit a jogger. #dude #slowyourroll While officers were responding to the area, another caller advised that the car crashed into a tree and that the driver had fled on foot. #whyyourunning #itstoohottorun #youmustbehidingsomething Flash forward to noon, and the registered owner of the car, Christopher Mills called and wanted to report that his vehicle (the one wrapped around the tree) had been stolen. #isthatright #funnyyoushouldsaythat Our officers went out to speak to Mr. Mills regarding his recently stolen vehicle and found that he was wearing nearly the exact same clothing as the person that ran from the car earlier in the morning. In fact, he had brush and stickers in his socks and a dandelion sticking out of his pocket. #clues #nicetry #idontthinkso After Mr. Mills was positively identified as the driver of the vehicle from the hit and run, he was arrested for hit and run and filing a false police report.

– Are you doing the #9PMroutine? Don’t worry, it’s not some crazy fad workout. The #9PMroutine is making sure that your house and vehicles are locked up and secure before you go to bed. Before you turn in for the night, make sure that you have removed all valuables from your vehicles and locked them. #setyouralarm #thedealershipchargedyouforit #useit Make the trek to your mailbox. I know, it’s so far away. Send the kids, take the dog, get your steps in for the day. Whatever it takes, just do it. Identity theft is no fun. #trustme Make sure your garage and back doors are closed. The kids run in and out all day and you just know that they forgot to shut the door when they came in. #shutthedoor #wereyouborninabarn #theairison #imnotcoolingthewholeneighborhood If you see a neighbor’s garage door open, be a good neighbor and shoot them a text. They’ll appreciate it. Lastly, make sure your front porch lights are on. Criminals prefer to work in the dark. Cars. Mail. Doors. Lights. #goodnight Together we can make Murrieta the last place those with nefarious intentions want to come.
