When deputies arrived they found the man’s lifeless body. Officials confirmed the victim had already succumbed to his injuries and officials pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

During their initial investigation deputies learned the victim lived at or was known to stay at a home on nearby D St. Deputies soon cordoned off 4th St, from Hwy 74 to E. St., designating the entire area a crime scene.

Based on evidence at the scenes, investigators from Hemet Station and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Technicians from the department’s Forensic Services Bureau also responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.

Throughout the remainder of the rest of the afternoon, forensic techs and other officials were seen searching for, documenting, photographing, and collecting evidence that was possibly related to the man’s murder.

Citing their ongoing investigation, officials have declined to release any further details, including the identity of the victim, which will be released after the man’s family has been notified.

The Sheriff’s investigation is active and ongoing.
