Thirty-two firefighters from nine engine companies and a Breathing Support Unit responded to the fire shortly after 4 p.m., after receiving multiple reports of a residential structure fire, Cal Fire spokesperson Jody Hagemann later explained in an incident report.

“The first arriving engine company reported a single story home, well involved,” said Hagemann.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire, along with Cities of Norco, Corona, and Riverside firefighters spent about an hour knocking down the fire. Hagemann later estimated the loss at approximately $300,000, but said firefighter’s efforts saved about $20,000 in property and personal belongings.

American Red Cross representatives have responded to the scene and are assisting the victims displaced by the fire.

One civilian was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of moderate, unspecified injuries, according to Hagemann.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
