UPDATE: Officials investigating 299E rollover accident near Montgomery Creek

UPDATED: Monday, Oct. 22, 2:45 p.m.

See original story below.

MONTGOMERY CREEK — CHP updated at 2:42 p.m. that a vehicle that overturned on westbound SR-299E near Moose Camp Rd. was off the roadway and not blocking any lanes of traffic. Despite the overturned vehicle being off the rural, two-lane mountain highway, area residents and commuters were reporting brief delays as vehicles slowly moved past the area of the crash.

According to a CHP incident log the vehicle, described only as a sedan, was still on its roof and a tow truck had been summoned to the scene to right the overturned vehicle and tow it from the scene.

No information was readily available about the vehicle’s occupants and it was not immediately known if anyone was injured in the solo-vehicle crash.

The crash was just one of three injury accidents along a 60-mile stretch of 299E within the last 24 hours, including another rollover that resulted in the death of a 20-year-old, Fall River Mills woman and a “T-Bone” collision east of Beiber. All three crashes are still under investigation by CHP.

This is a developing story that will be updated as new information is available.
