Despite disguise, Anderson “chronic offender” arrested again

ANDERSON — Despite trying to disguise himself in an attempt to avoid apprehension, Anderson police officers located and arrested a person designated by the County as a “chronic offender” last Wednesday, May 15.

According to an Anderson PD social media release, Christopher Michael Dalton, 33, of Anderson, has generated 24 calls for law enforcement service in Shasta County over the last 17 months. Those calls resulted in multiple citations and ten custodial arrests, as well as six new criminal cases.

Dalton, who is listed under the County’s Chronic Offender Accountability Program as having prior contacts for burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, theft, assault, drug possession, and probation violations, had three active warrants for his arrest; including a prison eligible felony probation revocation warrant. He was apprehended in the area of Silver and Mill streets in Anderson, Anderson PD officials wrote in their release.

At the time of his most recent arrest, “Dalton was found to be wearing a wig in an attempt to conceal his identity,” said Anderson PD.

Despite his attempt at disguising his identity, the officer was already familiar with Dalton, and “was not deceived by his new sandy locks of hair,” and arrested the chronic offender without incident.

Dalton will remain in custody until he is sentenced on his pending charges and the probation revocation, according to APD.
