Six arrested during RPD’s investigation of “problem house”

REDDING — Redding PD’s Neighborhood Police Unit recently teamed up with City Code Enforcement officials to address a “problem house” they have been investigating for the past two months, Redding PD announced Aug. 1. The operation happened at a private residence in the 1000 block of Center St., Wednesday afternoon, July 31.

After their months-long investigation, officials responded to the location “to identify the subjects causing problems and determine the measures needed to clean up the property,” Redding PD Neighborhood Police Unit Sgt. Danny Smetak explained in a social media release.

When officers arrived at the home, they contacted multiple people, six of whom were ultimately arrested for various charges and warrants.

During the enforcement operation, officers arrested Rachel Helen Long, 38, for a felony warrant and four misdemeanor warrants.

Ashley Ann Levan, 25, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, and Jordan Lewis Harty, 33, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

Additionally, Randall Alan Gulledge, 31, Patrick Lee Cagle, 59, and Sharmi Dawn Daniel, 55, were all arrested on outstanding warrants.

According to Smetak, NPU is continuing to work with the City of Redding Code Enforcement officials, along with the person responsible for the property, “to address the ongoing problems and clean up the residence.”

Smetak also used the opportunity to thank the citizens of Redding who reported the problem house to officials.

“We will continue our relentless pursuit to clean up suspected drug homes in the City of Redding,” said Smetak. “Please report suspected drug homes via our online reporting system at www.reddingpolice.org.”

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
