Man fatally shot at Anza illegal marijuana grow site

ANZA — Authorities are investigating the murder of a man in Anza after the victim’s body was found at a private residence Sunday morning, Nov. 3. The fatal shooting happened at the site of an illegal marijuana grow on the 39000 block of El Toro Rd., according to officials.

Deputies from the Hemet Sheriff’s Station responded to the residence at 7:35 a.m., after receiving reports of a shooting, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Wallace Clear later reported.

When deputies arrived at the scene they found a man dead inside the home, according to Clear.

Officials have not released the victim’s name, pending further investigation and notification of the man’s family.

Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit and Hemet Station investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

During their subsequent investigation officials determined the location where the murder happened was “an illegal marijuana cultivation site” and members of the Sheriff’s Marijuana Eradication Team responded to the scene and confiscated all contraband on the property, said Clear.

The sheriff’s murder investigation is ongoing and officials have not released any further details or information.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
