Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station began investigating last Wednesday’s murder about 2:30 p.m., when they responded to a home after receiving reports of an unresponsive female in need of medical attention, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Ken Thurm reported as the investigation was getting underway.

When officials arrived at the residence they found family members performing CPR on a woman who was later identified as Vonshon Walker. Deputies immediately summoned medical personnel, who arrived at the scene minutes later and assumed life-saving efforts, according to Thurm.

Despite life-saving measures Walker succumbed to her unspecified injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.

Based on the circumstances, Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit and Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s investigators responded to the home and assumed the investigation into Walker’s death.

“During the course of the investigation it was determined the subject was the victim of a homicide,” said Thurm.

As their investigation continued, officials gathered leads and developed information that led them to issuing a fugitive from justice warrant for Walker’s husband, 38-year-old, Marchillo Jonathan Herre Hill,

On Friday, Dec. 6, officers from Hawthorn Police Department stopped and detained Hill and notified Central Homicide Unit investigators, who responded to Hawthorn and took custody of the wanted man.

Hill was transported back to Riverside County where he was interviewed and later booked into Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on his warrant.

On Tuesday, Dec. 10, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office filed charges against Hill for the murder of his wife, according to Thurm.
