Redding pedestrian fatally struck by hit and run driver
REDDING — Authorities in Redding are searching for a driver who fled the scene after fatally hitting a pedestrian Friday evening, Dec. 20. The deadly collision happened on S. Market St., north of Angelo Ave.

City of Redding Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene around 6 p.m., after receiving reports of a possible hit and run traffic collision involving a pedestrian, Redding Police Sgt. Rob Peterson later reported.
When officials arrived at the scene they located the victim down on the ground near the roadway.
The victim, who has not been publicly identified pending further investigation and notification of the person’s family, was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
During their subsequent investigation, officers found evidence at the scene they say indicated that the front or side window of the suspect vehicle shattered from the impact of the collision.
Despite searching the area, officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle, which they say fled the location after the collision.
“At this time, the victim has not been identified, and there is no description of the suspect vehicle,” said Peterson.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
