Redding police officers were dispatched to the multi-level parking garage just after 4 p.m., after receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision, Redding Police Cpl. Chris Mills reported after the crash.

When officers arrived they found a blue Pontiac G6 that had collided into a parked white Ford F-250. The collision left both vehicles dangling dangerously over the edge of the garage’s second level, near the southeast corner of the parking structure.

Witnesses later told officers that four occupants from the Pontiac fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers. Despite searching the area, those subjects were not located and the Pontiac was subsequently impounded.

Although no injuries were reported, the railing to the elevated parking structure was also damaged in the collision.

Officials say they are continuing to investigate the hit and run and are actively searching for those who fled from the crash.
