Body pulled from Sacramento River – Junction City man, 58, ID’d

ANDERSON, Calif. — Authorities are investigating the death of a Junction City man after his lifeless body was found floating in the Sacramento River behind an Anderson residence Friday morning, April 10.

The body, which has since been recovered by deputies assigned to Shasta County’s Boating Safety Unit, was found floating behind a home on the 3300 block of Riverside Dr.

Anderson police officers were dispatched to the area around 10:30 a.m., after receiving reports of a man’s body found floating in the river.

Official radio traffic at the time indicated a gardener spotted the body floating face down in the river while working in a backyard.

Officers who responded to the scene soon located the victim’s body floating about a mile and a half from the Anderson River Park boat ramp.

After the discovery, deputies assigned to Shasta County Sheriff’s Boating Safety Unit were dispatched to the scene to recover the victim’s body from the water.  

After being pulled from the river the victim, later identified as 58-year-old, William Glenn Braz, of Junction City, California, was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel.
 
Braz’ family has been notified of his passing and a postmortem examination will be scheduled, according to Shasta County Chief Deputy Coroner Lt. Gunsauls; who reported there were no immediate signs of foul play.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
