UPDATE: Man killed in Perris off-roading crash ID’d

PERRIS — Authorities investigating a deadly crash involving an off-road motorcyclist have identified the man killed in the accident, which occurred in Perris Sunday Morning, April 19.

The fatal accident happened in an open field in the area of Metz Rd., west of Georgiana Court, according to officials.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after 7 a.m., after receiving reports of a solo-vehicle crash involving an off-road motorcyclist, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Hibbler reported after the deadly accident.

When officials arrived at the scene they found an unresponsive male, who passed away at the scene.

Deputies from the Perris Station’s Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team who investigated the crash determined the victim, who has since been identified as Alejandro Saldana, 22, of Wilmington, was riding a motorcycle in the dirt field when he lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle when it overturned multiple times.

Deputies are continuing to investigate the fatal accident and anyone who may have witnessed the crash and has not been interviewed is encouraged to call Deputy Maldonado at the Perris Sheriff’s Station at (951) 210-1077. Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
