Investigation ongoing after body found in Juniper Flats

JUNIPER FLATS, Calif. — Although very few details have been released, officials yesterday said they are investigating the murder of a Lakeview man, whose lifeless body was found in the unincorporated community of Juniper Flats Tuesday afternoon, May 20.

Officials, who have not specified how the victim died, say the man’s body was discovered on the 21700 block of Twin Canyon Dr., between the cities of Perris and San Jacinto.

Deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the scene just before 3:30 p.m., after receiving reports of a deceased male, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Carroll has since reported.

Deputies who responded to the scene located a deceased male who died after sustaining major, but unspecified, traumatic injuries.

The victim was later identified as 29-year-old, Joshua Estrada, of Lakeview.

“Due to the nature of the incident, Investigators from the Perris Station and the Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation,” Carrol advised; saying no suspects have been identified or located.

The sheriff’s investigation is ongoing.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
