Roadside altercation leads to shooting – One arrested

EASTVALE, Calif. — A bicyclist who shot at a carload of people during a roadside altercation in Eastvale was later arrested Sunday morning, June 7.

None of the car’s occupant’s, including two children, were injured in the shooting, which happened at the intersection of Limonite Ave. and Scholar Way.

Deputies were dispatched to the area about 8:23 a.m., after receiving reports of a shooting, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Frank Lodes later said of the violent incident.

When deputies arrived they learned an altercation took place between a motorist and bicyclist, according to Lodes; who did not specify the nature of the argument that led to the shooting.

During the altercation the bicyclist reached into a handbag and pulled out a gun. Fearing for his safety and the safety of his three passengers, the motorist sped away from the scene, just as the bicyclist fired at the fleeing vehicle.

Deputies began searching the area and located the bicyclist,who was later identified as 23-year-old, Donovan Moore, of Eastvale. During a subsequent search, deputies discovered Moore was still in possession of a loaded firearm.

Based on their investigation deputies arrested Moore and he was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on four counts of attempted murder, according to Lodes.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
