Homeland teen arrested after young victim sustains severe head trauma during robbery

CORRECTION: An early version of this article indicated the teen arrested in this incident was located and apprehended within the Highland Palms Senior Estates in Homeland. That information turned out to be inaccurate and police activity in that community on June 22 was related to sa separate, unrelated incident. HOMELAND, Calif. — Following a violent robbery that occurred last month, on May 12, deputies on Thursday arrested a Homeland teen for attempted murder and other related charges after their investigation led them to learning the 16-year-old suspect’s identity and whereabouts.

The victim, who was not identified due to his age, sustained “severe head trauma” and was hospitalized after the robbery, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Hamilton has since reported.

Based on the circumstances and victim’s severe traumatic injuries, members of the Perris Station’s Robbery/Burglary Suppression Team assumed the investigation.

During their subsequent investigation, RBST deputies developed leads and gathered information that led them to identifying a 16 year-old as the suspect in the violent attack and robbery.
