Man’s body found in Moreno Valley field – Drug OD suspected

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. — Officials are conducting a “suspicious death” investigation after a man’s body was found in a Moreno Valley field, behind Bravos California Fresh Burgers on the 13000 block of Edgemont St., Wednesday morning, July 15.

Authorities investigating the discovery have reported the victim likely died as a result of a drug overdose and have said no foul play is suspected at this time.

Deputies from the Moreno Valley Station and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene around 9:20 a.m., after receiving reports of an unresponsive male found in a vacant field, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Craig Roberts has since reported.

When sheriffs and paramedics arrived at the scene they found a man’s lifeless body and determined the person was already deceased.

Investigators from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station and Central Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

“After processing the scene, it was determined the person may have died from an apparent overdose and foul play is not suspected at this time,” explained Roberts

The victim’s name has not yet been released, pending further investigation, positive identification, and notification of the man’s family.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 16 grandchildren.
