Deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station, along with Cal Fire-Riverside and other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the scene around 3:10 a.m., according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Luke Torres and a Cal Fire-Riverside social media release.

Despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene, according to officials.

Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials have since identified the victim as 30-year-old, Jose Reyes, of Jurupa Valley. A coroner’s release indicated he was pronounced deceased at 3:21 a.m.

“The male driver and sole occupant in the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated during the investigation,” according to Torres; who said the driver did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision.

Members of the Jurupa Valley Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team who responded to the scene and assumed the investigation determined that neither alcohol or drug intoxication were believed to have been factors in the deadly collision, according to Torres.
