When deputies arrived at the scene they were directed to the flood control channel under Van Buren Blvd., where they found a male victim.

“The male sustained several gunshot wounds, and although emergency lifesaving efforts were attempted, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene,” described Ramirez.

Deputies secured the area as a crime scene at which time Jurupa Valley Station and Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit investigators responded and began investigating the deadly shooting.
