“Well known to officers”, wanted Anderson felon arrested

ANDERSON, Calif. — Authorities say a wanted Anderson felon was arrested after she was found to be driving with an expired driver’s license, had two felony and two misdemeanor warrants for her arrest, and was in possession of drug paraphernalia.

When they contacted the driver, officers were already investigating unrelated reports of a 55-year-old Cottonwood woman who allegedly offered to give methamphetamine to a 15-year-old girl near the North Street Bridge. That suspect was later arrested after officers found her to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Officers were investigating the initially reported attempted drug transaction involving the teen around 7 p.m., when “an unrelated vehicle drove to the scene at a high rate of speed and abruptly came to a stop about 20 feet from patrol vehicles,” officials later reported on social media.

Officers immediately recognized and contacted the driver, 36-year-old, Amanda Pickrell, of Anderson, “who is well known to the Anderson Police Department,” officials said in their release.

During that contact, officers learned Pickrell was driving with an expired driver’s license, and that she had two felony and two misdemeanor warrants for her arrest.

Officers also discovered that Pickrell was in possession of a methamphetamine smoking pipe and arrested her for her outstanding warrants as well as possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on an expired license.
