Deputies from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station, along with Cal Fire-Riverside firefighters and AMR medics, were dispatched to the scene about 10:35 p.m., after receiving reports of a major traffic collision involving two vehicles, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Joseph Greco has since said of the deadly accident.

Officials began arriving at the scene within minutes of the dispatched call and found two wrecked vehicles, described as a white Mercedes-Benz and blue Subaru Forester. Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage and vehicle parts and debris were spread across the roadway.

Deputies and medical personnel quickly located an unresponsive woman inside one of the two vehicles. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the scene.

Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials have since identified the victim as Lynn Green, 53, of Temecula. A coroner’s release indicated she was pronounced deceased at 10:48 p.m.

The other involved driver was treated for complaints of pain and declined further treatment at the scene.

Based on the circumstances, members of the Southwest Station’s Traffic Team responded to the accident and assumed the investigation.

During their investigation, Traffic Team members determined the driver of the Mercedes-Benz was traveling eastbound on Pauba Rd. when, for unknown reasons, the driver drove into oncoming traffic where it smashed head-on into the Subaru.

Officials did not specify which vehicle Green was in when she was killed in the collision.
