MORENO VALLEY, Calif. — Authorities continuing to investigate the deadly, Labor Day shooting of a 22-year-old, up and coming boxer have announced the arrest of a third suspect in the fatal shooting. Two teens were also injured during the shooting, both of whom were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials have been investigating the deadly incident since Sept 7, which occurred in the 22900 block of Allies Pl. near Courage St., northwest of Alessandro Blvd. and Fredrick St.

Although sheriff’s officials previously announced the arrest of two men in connection with the fatal encounter, investigators were still searching for a third suspect, Joseph Goldsmith, 28,of Riverside, and had issued a warrant for his arrest.

According to Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Ben Ramirez, on Monday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m., Goldsmith, turned himself in to authorities at the Moreno Valley Sheriff Station. He was subsequently arrested for his outstanding murder warrant and later booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

“The investigation is currently ongoing and no further information will be released at this time,” said rzamirez; adding, “If anyone has information regarding this investigation, they are encouraged to call Investigator Alfaro with the Central Homicide Unit at (951) 955-2777. MORENO VALLEY, Calif. — Authorities investigating the shooting death of Daniel Gonzalez, 22, of Moreno Valley – described by officials as an up and coming Super Featherweight boxing prospect, who recently made his Mayweather Promotions debut say – they have arrested two of three men they allege were involved in the deadly shooting.

Two teens were also injured during the violent incident, which happened in the 22900 block of Allies Pl. near Courage St., northwest of Alessandro Blvd. and Fredrick St. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities.

“During the course of this investigation, multiple witness interviews were conducted, surveillance camera footage was reviewed, and evidence was collected, leading to the identification of three suspects,” Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Ben Ramirez said of the ongoing investigation.

Based on their investigation, members from the Special Enforcement Bureau, Moreno Valley Station Burglary and Robbery Suppression Teams, and Problem Oriented Policing Team, served multiple search warrants in the cities of Moreno Valley and Hemet, on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Two suspects in the fatal shooting, Andre Richee, 27, and Lee Mooring, 32, both of Moreno Valley, were located and detained at locations in Moreno Valley and Hemet.

Both Richee and Mooring were later arrested and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of murder the following day.

During their investigation, officials identified the third suspect, Joseph Lewis Jackson Goldsmith, 27, of Riverside, and his vehicle, a white Chevrolet Cruze.  Goldsmith is still outstanding and investigators have issued a murder arrest warrant for him.

“The Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s help regarding Goldsmith’s whereabouts,” said Ramirez.

The investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time. Original Story: “Up and coming boxer” killed, two teens injured in Moreno Valley shooting

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. — A 22-year-old up-and-coming boxer was fatally shot during a Sept. 7 Labor Day shooting in Moreno Valley.

The deadly shooting, which also sent two teens to the hospital with non-life threatening gunshot injuries, happened in the 22900 block of Allies Pl. near Courage St., northwest of Alessandro Blvd. and Fredrick St.

Deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the residential neighborhood around 9:09 p.m., after receiving a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Ben Ramirez later reported.

Deputies arrived within minutes and located one adult male and two juvenile male victims with gunshot wounds, according to Ramirez. 

Despite life-saving efforts, the adult succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene.

The two minors were transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley with non-life threatening injuries.

The man who died at the scene has since been identified as Daniel Gonzalez, 22, of Moreno Valley. Gonzalez was a budding Super Featherweight boxing prospect, who recently made his Mayweather Promotions debut, according to authorities.

After deputies secured the area as a crime scene, investigators from Moreno Valley Sheriff Station and Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit, along with a mobile command center, Forensic Technicians and other officials, responded and assumed the investigation.

Officials have not released any known motive for the deadly shooting or what may have led to the fatal encounter and no description of the shooter(s) has been released.
