MORENO VALLEY, Calif., — Authorities investigating a 2020 triple shooting that left a man dead in Moreno Valley have released new information regarding a vehicle now being sought in their ongoing years-long murder investigation.

The deadly shooting, which injured two others, happened at the La Pacifica Apartments in the 23000 block of Hemlock Avenue on Sept. 24.

Deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station began investigating the deadly shooting after responding to the apartment complex, where they found three victims who had been shot.

“One of those people died at the scene as a result of his injuries,” Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit Sergeant Rick Espinoza said at the time of the fatal shooting.

The victim who died was later identified as Henry Ballew, 21, of Moreno Valley.

Members of the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit ultimately assumed the investigation and over the course of the last several months continued developing leads and gathering information that led them to identifying a possible suspect vehicle, which was spotted at the intersection of Graham Street and Ironwood Avenue on the evening of the murder.

Despite the new evidence and many months spent investigating the shooting, CHU investigators have not yet been able to locate the vehicle or identify anyone who may have been driving or in the sedan when the shooting occurred, leading officials to issue a social media release yesterday requesting help identifying the owner of the vehicle and locating the car.

The Sheriff’s investigation is active and ongoing, and anyone who may have any information regarding the pictured vehicle is urged to immediately contact Central Homicide Investigator Armando Munoz at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department (760) 770-2452 or (951) 235-9833. Callers can refer to incident file number MV202670423 and can remain anonymous.
