Wildomar man, 47, ID’d after deadly Murrieta crash

MURRIETA, Calif. — California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of a solo-vehicle crash in the unincorporated La Cresta area of Murrieta that killed a Wildomar resident last night, Tuesday, Oct. 27.

The deadly accident happened on Clinton Keith Rd., about one mile west of Calle Del Oso Oro, and just east of Cal Fire – Riverside’s Station 75.

When emergency personnel arrived they found a heavily-damaged vehicle that went over the side of the roadway and overturned in heavy foliage. They discovered a victim trapped and requiring extrication.

Sadly, the victim perished at the scene, Cal Fire reported in a release after the accident.

Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials have since identified Fernando Zuniga Silva, 47, of Wildomar as the man killed in the crash. A coroner’s release has indicated Zuniga was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel at 7:54 p.m.

CHP’s investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
