REDDING, Calif. — Authorities have identified three people who were found dead inside a Redding home Monday afternoon, Jan. 18. Officials have previously said that a possible fentanyl overdose was suspected as the cause of the tragic discovery, which was made in the 2100 block of Park Marina Drive, south of Sundial Bridge Drive.

The victims have since been positively identified as 33-year-old, Joshua Daniel Severson, of Austin, Texas, 28-year-old, Austin Tod Mclemore, of Redding, and 33-year-old, Ryan Justin Bertz of Redding.

The decedent’s next-of-kin has been notified and a postmortem examination will be scheduled, Shasta County Chief Deputy Coroner Lieutenant Stonehouse reported yesterday.

The case remains under investigation by the Redding Police Department and anyone with information is asked to contact the Department’s Investigations Division at (530) 225-4200. Callers can refer to incident file number 21R003589 and can remain anonymous.

REDDING, Calif. — Officials say a possible Fentanyl overdose is suspected after three people were found dead inside a Redding home yesterday afternoon, Monday, Jan. 18. The bodies were discovered inside a private residence in the 2100 block of Park Marina Drive, south of Sundial Bridge Drive.

Officers with the Redding Police Department were dispatched to the home around 3:30 p.m., after receiving a 911 call reporting the discovery of three people who were possibly deceased inside the residence, Redding Police Sergeant Danny Smetak has since said of the ongoing investigation.

When officers arrived they forced entry into the home with assistance from Redding Fire personnel, at which time the three victims were located and confirmed deceased.

“Evidence and substances inside the home led officers to believe narcotics were possibly ingested by the three individuals prior to their death,” said Smetak. “Based on the circumstances, agents from the Shasta Inter-Agency Narcotic Task Force (SINTF) responded and tested the substances which preliminary tested positive for Fentanyl.”

The identities of the three victims have not been released pending further investigation and notification of their families.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
