No injuries reported after early morning Redding blaze destroys home
REDDING, Calif. — No serious injuries were reported after an early morning blaze swept through a southwest Redding double wide mobile home earlier today, Wednesday, March 3.
The fire tore through a residence in the 1100 block of Kenyon Drive near Chantilly Lane, in a rural and somewhat mountainous area, southwest of SR-299W and Hwy 273.

Officials were dispatched to the location around 2 a.m. after receiving reports of a residential structure fire, according to official radio traffic at the time.
Redding PD officers who were first to arrive at the scene described finding the residence fully engulfed in flames and reported locating four occupants who had already self-extricated from the burning home.

Although all four occupants appeared mostly uninjured, radio traffic indicated that medical personnel were asked to continue to the scene to evaluate one woman for unspecified minor injuries she may have sustained while fleeing the burning residence.
While officers checked for additional potential victims and started setting up traffic control, firefighters began arriving at the scene.
Due to limited fire hydrants in the area, Redding Fire’s response included a 3,000 gallon water tender to assist with water supply issues, according to a subsequent social media post issued by Redding Firefighters.
Once sufficient water sources were allocated, firefighters made quick work knocking down the blaze, and officials from the scene later said no firefighters were injured extinguishing the fire.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
