Banning Art Gallery to celebrate Moms at upcoming Banning Market Night April 16

BANNING, Calif. — As part of the upcoming Banning Market Night scheduled for Friday, April 16, the Banning Art Gallery will be celebrating Moms everywhere with free artistic projects to create for their very special day. The event will also feature a variety of vendors, food trucks, and local dining, and both the Fox Theater and Art Gallery will be open for visitors.

Having just recently reopened to the public after the year-long, COVID-19 pandemic-related shuttering of their doors, the Banning Art Gallery will be offering free arts and crafts and a chance to make the special moms in your life a card or other outdoor craft she will not likely soon forget.

Along with the free arts and crafts, a variety of artists will have displays showcasing their talents for viewing and for sale during the Market Night event, which is scheduled from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Additionally, the downtown gallery will stay open during the event so attendees can enter the gallery and view the extraordinary talents and artisan pieces of local SoCal Artists.

Although the co-op gallery has been reopened since early March and is currently featuring a new show geared toward Mother’s Day, gallery officials have planned a Grand Re-opening Event for May 7.

“It is so exciting to finally be open in our new location,” said Helen Enriquez, a longtime volunteer for the nonprofit gallery.

The gallery had just moved to their new location and officials were planning their Grand Opening event at the beginning of 2020, when the pandemic hit.

“Closing our doors was one of the most difficult times to endure as it was for so many businesses,” Gallery Coordinator, Cindy Watson said of the shutdown.
