Ten, including five children, displaced after French Valley house fire

FRENCH VALLEY, Calif. — Ten people, including five children, were displaced after a fire tore through a private French Valley residence Tuesday afternoon, April 20. The fire, which left the home heavily damaged, occurred in the area of Bordeaux Place and Thompson Road.

Cal Fire-Riverside firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 2 p.m. after receiving reports of a residential structure fire. When officials arrived at the scene they reported finding a two story residence with heavy smoke coming from the second floor.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, with full containment reported at 2:41 pm.

Although there were no injuries reported, due to the heavy damage caused by the fire the American Red Cross was called in to assist five adults and five children who were displaced by the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
