Found sleeping in stolen car with drugs in plain view, Redding men arrested in Petaluma

PETALUMA, Calif. — Found sleeping in a stolen car, two Redding men were in arrested in Petaluma, CA after officers found they were in possession of a large amount of fentanyl and drug-related paraphernalia early Tuesday morning, May 4.

Officers spotted a blue Chrysler 300 Sedan parked along a fence in the 4000 block of Petaluma Blvd North around 3 a.m., Petaluma Police Department later explained on social media and Nixle.

A records check of the vehicle’s license indicated the vehicle had been reported as stolen out of Northern California.

After approaching the vehicle, officers saw it was occupied by two men, since identified as Gerald Clinton Strong III, 28, and Joshua James Jensen, 34, both of Redding.

Officers could see the men were asleep and could also see “various narcotics and paraphernalia in plain view,” officials described.

Officers detained the two men and a subsequent search of the stolen vehicle they were in uncovered a large quantity of Fentanyl.

Both men were arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of a controlled narcotic and booked into Sonoma County Jail.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
