Deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station, along with CAL FIRE-Riverside and other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the intersection around 12:46 a.m., after receiving reports of a two-vehicle, major injury traffic collision, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Hibbler later said of the fatal accident.

Deputies arrived within minutes and located a collision involving a red 2004 Mercedes Benz CLK 320 and a silver 2006 Volvo S40.

No information about the two drivers or any other possible victims was immediately available.

Members of the Perris Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation, which is ongoing.
