Motorcyclist, 18, ID’d after fatal Perris crash

PERRIS, Calif., — Although few details have been released, authorities today confirmed a motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident in Perris Monday afternoon, Oct. 11. It was not immediately clear if any other vehicles were involved in the fatal crash, which happened in the 760 block of W. Rider Street, near Webster Street, according to officials.

Deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station, along with Cal Fire-Riverside and other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the scene around 4:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a major injury traffic accident involving a motorcyclist, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Hibbler reported this morning.

When officials arrived they found a motorcycle down in the roadway with a critically injured rider nearby. He was rushed to the Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley where, despite extensive life-saving efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has since identified Jesse Mancilla, 18, of Perris, as the man killed in the crash. A Coroner’s release indicated he was pronounced deceased at 9:08 p.m.

Members of the Perris Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation, which is active and ongoing, according to Hibbler; who said no further information was immediately available.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
