Motorcyclist critically injured in Lakeland Village crash

LAKELAND VILLAGE, Calif., — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in Lakeland Village on the south side of Lake Elsinore Sunday afternoon, Nov. 14. The accident occurred near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Garner Road, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log.

CHP, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Cal Fire – Riverside, and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a rear-end collision involving a motorcycle and second vehicle.

When officials arrived they found a grey Toyota with minor rear-end damage and a motorcycle with significant front-end damage. Officials found the motorcyclist, described by witnesses at the scene as a white male in his 50s, down in the roadway.

The rider suffered major traumatic injuries in the collision and was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition where friends say he remains hospitalized.

While officials worked at the scene, the victim’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle was seen lying on its side within the lanes of travel. The motorcycle was later towed from the scene.

The other involved driver was not reportedly injured in the crash. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with the collision investigation.

CHP’s investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing and no further details have been released.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
