Local man arrested after confessing to four recent Corona gas station robberies

CORONA, Calif., — Authorities have arrested a man they say confessed to robbing four Corona area gas stations since Nov. 17. The alleged suspect was apprehended after officials obtained video surveillance footage of the robberies and distributed the man’s photos and other information to area law enforcement agencies.

City of Corona police officers and detectives began investigating the robbery of a gas station’s convenience store in mid-November. Their investigation soon grew to include three other gas stations that were later robbed by a man with the same description as the suspect in the first armed robbery.

As their investigation continued, on Dec. 8, Corona PD officers stopped an individual matching the description of the suspect and detained him for questioning in the series of robberies, Corona PD reported yesterday in a social media post after the man’s arrest.

“The 19-year old Corona resident was eventually arrested and confessed to four robberies in the Corona area,” officials wrote in their post, which did not include the arrested man’s name.
