Driver critically injured after Woodcrest two-vehicle rollover crash into pole

WOODCREST, Calif., — Authorities say a motorist was critically injured in a two-vehicle rollover crash that left one vehicle wrapped around a traffic signal pole in the unincorporated community of Woodcrest Friday evening, March 25.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Van Buren Boulevard and Canyon View Drive and forced the hours-long closure of the intersection while officials worked at the scene.

California Highway Patrol, along with Cal Fire – Riverside and other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the scene around 9:22 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of a major injury traffic collision with entrapment involving a pickup truck and passenger sedan.

When officials arrived, they found numerous witnesses and good Samaritans providing aid and comfort to the injured occupants of the two vehicles.

Firefighters quickly confirmed that the driver whose truck ended up wrapped around a pole was critically injured and trapped inside their wrecked vehicle and began a cut and rescue operation to free the victim.

After an extensive extrication, the victim was transported to Riverside University Health System Trauma Center in Moreno Valley. Their condition was described as critical by officials at the scene, but their current condition was not immediately available.

The intersection remained closed for several hours while officials worked at the scene, but the roadway has since been cleared.

CHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision and no further details have yet to be released.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
